How do I get to the port for the Uros and Taquile floating islands tour?

At the time of making the reservation we take care of picking you up from your hotel, of course you have to be in Puno and send us the name of the hotel to pick you up.

Is it difficult and tiring to do the Uros and Taquile floating islands tour?

This tour is a quiet walk on Lake Titicaca, the visit to the Uros islands is calm and flat from the moment you get off the boat, on the island of Taquile you have to walk approximately 100 meters up to the main square which is done in 15 minutes at a slow pace with very beautiful views, in summary this tour is calm and suitable for all ages.

Will I have problems with the high altitude sickess?

When traveling through the altiplano, some people could have some altitude effects, so it is recommended to bring at least 2 days of acclimatization, but if you were in another high-altitude city, you will already be acclimatized.

What can I do to prevent altitude sickness?

We recommend being in Puno or a high-altitude city for at least two days and drinking coca tea, since coca is very good for oxygenating the body. This can be ordered at any restaurant, hotel, or you can prepare it yourself with boiled water and dried coca leaves.

Can I only visit the island of Taquile?

Unfortunately you cannot visit only the island of Taquile since it is a circuit that involves Uros and Taquile, in case you want to do it you would have to do it in private and rent a complete boat for you and that way if you could manage to do it.

What makes the island of Uros and Taquile special?

These two islands are special because they are located in the highest lake in the world, the island of the Uros is made of a type of grass called totora that is very floating, on the island of Taquile there is a population that from a very young age learns the ancestral custom especially making different crafts.
